Ram Outperforms All Other Brands in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Initial Quality Study

When it came to outperforming all other brands in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS), Ram was the only truck-exclusive brand. With a record-breaking first-place position in 2021, the first by a truck-exclusive brand in the study’s history and the result continues Ram’s amazing streak of high IQS rankings. Over the previous five years, the brand has placed among the top three in the industry four times. The Ram 1500’s victory in the Full-size Light-Duty Pickup class and the Ram 2500/3500’s third-place finish in the Heavy-Duty Pickup class highlighted this year’s achievements.

The gasoline engine of the 2024 Ram 1500 is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission, producing 305 horsepower from the 3.6-liter V-6 and 395 horsepower from the 5.7-liter V-8. Both engines are supported by a 48-volt hybrid system; the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is also available without the electric assistance. For those with an adventurous attitude, the rugged Rebel model offers true off-road performance and a rougher look. Every Ram 1500 has an excellent ride thanks to a rear suspension that uses either standard coil springs or optional air springs, which sets them apart from ordinary leaf-spring configurations. Models with air suspension even allow for ride height adjustment, which enhances off-road performance and fuel efficiency.
