Jeep and Ram made one of the largest team-wide NIL agreements in collegiate women’s sport with the University of Utah. The Utah Crimson Collective and its streaming app, Utah 360° made the announcement. The athletes were surprised by the major agreement that honors the University of Utah’s men’s and women’s basketball and women’s gymnastics teams. Eligible athletes will have the choice of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited Edition or a 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn truck, complete with a Night Edition package. The plans were put in motion last spring by the Utah Crimson Collective, and will extend the athletes to have the vehicles in time before their seasons start.
“I grew up watching and dreaming of becoming a Lady Ute. Women’s gymnastics has been part of my life, and today I am so proud to be part of the Crimson Collective, which has, since its inception, been dedicated to honoring the women athletes of Utah, as well as the men. I hope my enthusiasm for these programs will be contagious as I cover them on the Utah 360° streaming app,” said Missy Marlowe, former women’s gymnastics champion, former Olympian and NCAA gymnastics champion
The student athletes can continue to focus on their studies and doing what they do best in their respective sport because the cost of the leases and insurance will be covered by donors of the Crimson Collective for as long as each student is eligible. This isn’t the first time the Crimson Collective offered such amazing support, during the fall they offered Ram 1500 trucks to every football player with a scholarship. The Collective supports Utah student athletes and contributes to non-profit organizations in the Salt Lake community. Athletic Director Mark Harlan, coaches Collective board members and fans are present to unveil the news of the SUVs and trucks.
“As a former University of Utah gymnast, it’s incredibly meaningful for me to support our female athletes, as well as our talented young men,” said Nicole Mouskondis, co-CEO of Nicholas and Co. and board member of Crimson Collective. “When we began with the Crimson Collective, we envisioned an equitable platform that supports and connects all student athletes and particularly our women’s teams. This initiative is not just about providing transportation, it’s about showing all our student athletes that their achievements and contributions to the community are equally celebrated, on and off the field.”
The university offers the free streaming app Utah 360° with exclusive content which helps empower student athletes to browse financial opportunities. Utah 360° also offers a new innovative way for donors and sponsors to support universities and programs. Utah 360° can be found in Google Play and Apple’s App Store and can also be streamed on other devices via www.ftwin360.com. The Utah 360° program has expanded its content featuring an original program focused on women’s gymnastics, men’s and women’s basketball also. The program is led by Utah sports legends Sean Mooney as basketball ambassador and Missy Marlowe as the gymnastics ambassador.
