The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica just can’t stop winning awards! Once again the family favorite minivan earns the highest possible Insurance Institute of Highway Safety Rating (IIHS). The family-oriented vehicle allows buyers to enjoy those precious moments with the family in the safest way possible. The 2021 Pacifica is put through six different crash tests that place it at the top of the list for safety. The minivan received new features this model year including improved headlamp performance and pedestrian automatic emergency braking as standard on all trims. Chrysler unloads a long list of available safety features that serve to prevent any type of accident by using a combination of cameras and radar sensors to alert drivers.
“Winning the highest IIHS safety rating of TSP+ distinguishes the Chrysler Pacifica’s superior safety technology and performance,” Chrysler brand CEO Christine Feuell said in a statement. “Pacifica is the perfect choice for modern families who are looking for a minivan with the greatest combination of safety, functionality, and value.”
The 2021 Pacifica has great flexibility with a spacious cabin packed with cubbies, cupholders, slide-out bins, and connectivity all around to keep the family charged up. The 2021 Chrysler’s Uconnect 5 infotainment system is projected on a 10.1-inch touchscreen display that is framed by climate-control vents on the dashboard. The all-new Uconnect 5 offers a customizable home screen and Amazon Alexa integration, standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto Integration can be connected wirelessly. Chrysler has clearly made a dent in the minivan segment with the outstanding 2021 Pacifica. Let’s take a look at the performance side of the 2021 Pacifica.
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica offers two different engines, the first engine is the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that delivers up to 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Featuring dual overhead camshafts, high-flow intake and exhaust ports, Variable Valve Timing, and Electronic Throttle Control. Rated 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, the 2021 Pacifica comes standard with Engine Stop/Start (ESS) technology that is capable of turning off the engine and cutting the fuel flow when the vehicle brakes to a full stop. When the brake pedal is released, the engine automatically restarts and the nine-speed automatic transmission it’s paired to is engaged.
Moving forward to the 2021 Pacifica with the plug-in hybrid engine delivering top-of-the-line performance with the impressive hybrid 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. This powertrain serves primarily as a generator while providing power to the wheels in specific situations. This engine operates in an Atkinson Cycle, which uses a reduced air-fuel mixture to enhance efficiency. The hybrid-specific 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine produces an estimated 260 horsepower.
