Dodge Introduces The Sixth Special Edition “Last Call” series

Dodge introduced its sixth special edition lineup named the “Last Call” series. These are the final muscle cars of the current generation before we see the all-new electric Dodge Challenger and Charger that will take the next generation by storm. The all-new 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost is the perfect example of one of the new models. The Challenger Black Ghost will be equipped with a 6.2-Liter V8 powered engine that is direct from the SRT Hellcat Redeye. The SRT Hellcat Redeye trim is known to be one of the most powerful and fastest sedans. The special edition includes some of the King Daytona Charger features.
Performance wise the Black Ghost special edition gains another 10 horsepower going from 797 to 807 horsepower. This puts the 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost in the rarefied atmosphere of the legendary 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Originally the Black Ghost was made back in 1970 and keeps its same style. Dodge will only release 300 units of the 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost, and they are expected to be sold out quickly.
The foundation for the Black Ghost is uncovered from the 1970 Challenger R/T SE but was also made famous by Godfrey Qualls, a former Detroit motorcycle police officer. Qualls owned a black ’70 Challenger and would drag race the monstrous 426 HEMI engine. Eventually became a legendary ride and was moved to the National Historic Vehicle Register in 2020. The 2023 Challenger will carry plenty of trims, but the unique special editions, some will come “blacked out”. The Black Ghost special edition includes chrome “Dodge” front badges, a white stripe on the rear fender, added “Challenger” badges across the grille, rear spoiler, and front fender. Dodge included 20-inch Satin Carbon wheels with six-piston Brembo brakes.
